How to Enable GDPR in VIDIZMO Portal

Any personally identifiable information that a business stores digitally needs to be properly protected and the user whose personal data is in question must have absolute control over it. From contact information for your staff and users to the financial information and payment details, data usage is protected by law in most parts of the world especially in the UK (GDPR), California (CCPA), and Switzerland. This is to prevent that data from being misused by third parties for fraud, such as identity theft and phishing scams.

Data such as IP address, name, state, email, credit/debit card details contain sensitive information. Protecting all this and other Personally Identifiable Information (PII), in accordance with the Data Protection Act(s), requires businesses to adhere to specific principles. VIDIZMO understands the importance and necessity of data protection laws and is always working to stay compliant by upgrading data protection policies as per the need, which helps make compliance easier for our customers' content management portal(s).

Prerequisites​

Ensure you belong to a group with Portal Management feature enabled.

Enable GDPR in VIDIZMO Portal​

  1. Select the navigation menu.
  2. Expand Admin.
  3. Select Portal Settings.
  4. Expand Privacy.
  5. Select GDPR Compliance.
  6. Select Enable your Portal to comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Policy.
  7. Select Update to enable GDPR on your portal.

User Options After GDPR is Enabled​

After you enable GDPR, users will have two options on their user profiles:

  • Export Personal Data - Request the system to provide access to all the information stored against your personal data and export it.
  • Forget Personal Data - Request the system to delete your profile along with your data originally generated by you.
